- ARKive: Images of Life on Earth 'It is ARKive's ultimate aim to compile an audio-visual record, where possible, for the 11,000 animals and plants threatened with extinction, according to the World Conservation Union's (IUCN) Red Lists of Threatened Species. In the short-term, we are currently working on approximately 500 globally endangered species.' Divided into two sections: Globally Endangered Chapter and British Chapter.
